We can step in the presence of God and experience the transformation of ourselves by the new creation He has put on us.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6

“but even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing whose minds the god of this age has blinded who do no believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them”

The glory of God is Jesus

Countenance – Expression of the face

What is God’s expression towards you?

Countenance communicates more than words

The word “face” in the Bible refers to the way God looked at His people, If God faced was to people the was no judgment, however if his face was away from the people it meant that judgment was upon them. Sin causes the face of god to turn away from us.

Isaiah 53:4-6

“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions. he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His striped we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

Isaiah 54:7-10

“For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, Says the Lord, your Redeemer. For this is like the waters of Noah to me; For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”

Matthew 27:45-46

“Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land, and about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli Eli lama sabachtani, that is My God My God why have You forsaken Me?”

Jesus became sin as in Isaiah 54:7-10, all the anger would be poured out on Jesus, he didn’t only take all our sin, he became sin. God turned His face on His own son so that He can turn His face to you.

What matters is because of what Jesus did was justified and we find favor in God.

“Even when I sin God is still pleased with me”

Romans 6:1-2

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly no! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it!”

We have a old way that we were before we accepted Christ, where we used to be someone that we lived up to, but upon accepting Christ we are transformed. We are now a new creation, we are not the person we were before Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:12-18

“Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech – unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old testament, because the vei.l is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when moses is read a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Be we all, with unveil face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

(Paul is refering to the Old testament Story in read Exodus 34)

Unveiled Faces…

Because of what Jesus did, we no longer have to cover our face, we no longer have to stand at a distance, we can stand in the presence of God There is no excuse not to know Jesus!

Daily transformation in the life of Jesus is…

Less of me, more of Jesus.

We can have all the cool stuff in KAIO, the live band, the seats, the huge gym, fancy lighting, but with out Jesus, we cannot be transformed, with out Jesus can don’t allow Him to transform us.

“Body of believers, being transformed, and reflecting His glory with our actions, and words, is our purpose to be transformed.”

What do you want to be known for?

What marks are you wanting to leave behind?

KAIO need to be know for this…

Acts 4:13

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and john, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

Have you been recognized as being with Jesus?

People should look at your life and see Jesus, it does not matter what talents you have, what you have accomplished. They should see Jesus by the way we act, speak, and live our lives.

“I hate my life when I am not reflecting Jesus” — Shawn Smith

Here is a need for us to be transformed. there is no specific formula to do so. All we can do is open our hearts to Jesus, and ask Him to transform us, to train us, to mold us, into the man and woman of God we are called to be.

“It’s more than a prayer we say, it’s the lifestyle we life after we say the prayers, it’s how our heart line up with God.”

2 Timothy 3:5

“Having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

It’s more than a religion or religious ritual, it’s about our relationship with Christ. We may not know what to say or how to act, you may not have it all together, but YOU ARE TRANSFORMED.

Notes from Pastor Jeff on December 21, 2011

What is a gift that you all want for Christmas?

Every year we have a hope for a certain gift for christmas, whether it is the new video game out there for the Play Station 3, to the news shoes. Every year we anticipate the hope that we will get the gift we asked for.

Hope: to wish with expectation with its fulfillment.

Hope is something we already have. “We have lasting hope in salvation in Jesus.” There is confidence in Jesus, He is our Hope. In the Old Testament not everyone could experience God, in fact on High officials could do so, however, when our Hope, Jesus came in the flesh He made a way for all to experience God, for all to experience hope. He tore the veil (Matthew 27:51-53) and made a way and became our ever lasting hope. He sacrificed His life so that all may be able to be apart of His kindness and His love. (John 3:16)

Enjoy all the family, friends, and gifts this year, but NEVER forget where your true hope lies, and that never ends.

Intimacy – close or warm friendship or understanding; personal relationship

The relational aspect of sexuality has been lost to many in our culture and replaced by self-indulgence

To help us with intimacy in our relationships we:

•	must take the risk of disclosing emotions with others who are noteworthy.
•	must be willing to be honest and upfront in communicating
•	must listen and be non-judgmental in communication.
•	must value and cherish those we love.
•	The issue of intimacy is comprehensive to all significant relationships.
•	The impact of intimacy is much broader in scope than sexuality.
•	Being spiritually and psychologically committed constitutes intimacy.
•	Trust and respect are cornerstones of intimacy.
•	Accepting one with all of his/her flaws is a quality of intimacy.
•	Navigating difficult life events in a relationship is a characteristic of intimacy.

To live a life that would cause sudden change and impact the human endeavor in a way that turns their society towards a loving God. Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara said this about revolutionaries: “At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love…. We must strive every day so that this love of living humanity will be transformed into actual deeds, into acts that serve as examples, as a moving force.” Now; I don’t support Che and his views, but what a great thought to apply to my faith. That I would strive everyday so that this love for my Jesus would spill over into the humanity that surrounds me and that transformation would continue in my life and begin in others. How will you chose to revolutionize your community and more importantly the people within that community?

We payed homage to Baywatch, taught some biblical lifeguard principles and saw three students accept Christ as Lord and Savior. For those students that were here; accept the risk that is involved when trying to save a life. Don’t forget that there should be a lot of love involved and you are putting your reputation and spiritual status on the line. Then, remember the main objective of the lifeguard; Save Lives. Let us all take a hold of ever opportunity to share our story and the story of Jesus with others who don’t know so that “none should perish.”

Tonight we welcomed our freshman to Kaio and I must say that I am impressed with them. We challenged our group to live their life in such a way that it draws people to Jesus. In the 12th chapter of John there is a great example of this – 9 “When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. 10 Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, 11 for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus. Because of Lazarus’ testimony of what Jesus did in his life, people were drawn to Jesus. Can the same be said of you? Does your life draw others to Christ?

Last night at Kaio we talked about what it means for us to be filled with the Spirit and to live a life filled with the Spirit. Here is what Ephesians says;

Ephesians 5:15-20
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have highlighted some key points that stand out to me in this verse, but we focused on verse 18; “be filled with the Spirit”. Let us live a life of joy that makes the most of every opportunity no matter what it looks like. To be filled with the Spirit means to be filled with great joy in God. Joy in a relationship that is like no other and flows into all other relationships. In this verse Paul challenges us to not turn to other things like alcohol; as the Ephesians were doing; for a feel good because it will ruin us. I pray that joy would be found for all of us as believers in our relationship with God and that we would live that Joy out to its fullest.

The main point of our challenge was to let your life be completely and fully led by the Holy Spirit. One of the top five significant moments in scripture was when Jesus fulfilled His promise in sending the Holy Spirit to rest upon and in our lives. (Acts 2) We have tried for to long to lead ourselves to a place of fulfillment and purpose. We are unable to achieve this without God’s Spirit guiding us. There is no better example than Jesus himself. His entire life was directed by the Holy Spirit and we see in scripture that it took him places outside of the agenda and mapped out routes. (woman at the well, Jairus’s house, Zacchaeus’s house, etc.) It is your choice today; who are you going to let lead your life? (yourself or “the Holy Spirit”) When we let the Spirit lead us we stop wandering and walking in circles with our lives and we are pin pointed with direction and purpose! Lets live our lives being led by the Spirit and have an impact on the world and generation for the Kingdom of God.

Luke 4:1
