See You at the Pole

See You at the Pole™, the global day of student prayer, began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Twenty years later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September. See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. SYATP is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event. We will be holding a night rally on the evening of SYATP this year. (Sept.22nd) It will be a time where we  join together... (more...)

We had another great night at Kaio with our second week of Revolutionaries. We covered the thought of being consistent with our relationship with Christ. (When eyes are on us and when they are off of us) Short follow up here, but the bottom line is: “can we be just as passionate about the cause of Christ when we stand alone?” Col. 3:23 (we work as unto the Lord and not men)  Read More →

Tonight we challenged the students of KAIO to be revolutionary in their faith! To live a life that would cause sudden change and impact the human endeavor in a way that turns their society towards a loving God. Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara said this about revolutionaries: “At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love…. We must strive every day so that this love of living humanity will be transformed into actual deeds,... (more...)

1 John 5:13 (The Message) “My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion.” This could be considered part 2 of yesterdays post on “Abracadabra”. Not all illusions fascinate me; some are dumb. (just saying) I must also say that I like the one in the picture above. Anyways, in 1 John 5 our author is talking about the power of our faith in Jesus. (vs.4) When... (more...)

I must admit that I love to watch magicians do their thing. As a matter of fact I was watching David Blaine last night and was mesmerized and terrified by what he was doing. The disappearing acts are the ones that truly amaze me. The ability to take a real item and make it simply….. disappear! What’s sad is the fact that I have performed like a magician in showing Christ’s love before. I have made his love disappear. Check out 1 John 3:16-17: 1 John 3:16-17 (The Message) This is... (more...)

We had a fun and amazing night at Kaio! We payed homage to Baywatch, taught some biblical lifeguard principles and saw three students accept Christ as Lord and Savior. For those students that were here; accept the risk that is involved when trying to save a life. Don’t forget that there should be a lot of love involved and you are putting your reputation and spiritual status on the line. Then, remember the main objective of the lifeguard; Save Lives. Let us all take a hold of ever opportunity... (more...)

Jeremiah 25:5-7 (New Living Translation) 5 Each time the message was this: ‘Turn from the evil road you are traveling and from the evil things you are doing. Only then will I let you live in this land that the Lord gave to you and your ancestors forever. 6 Do not provoke my anger by worshiping idols you made with your own hands. Then I will not harm you. 7 “But you would not listen to me,” says the Lord. “You made me furious by worshiping idols you made with your own hands, bringing on yourselves... (more...)

Don’t you just hate bad news. On rare occasions Stacey will call me and open up the conversation with; “Do you want the good news or the bad news first.” My thought is, can I just have the good news and you keep the other for yourself. The last time she called me an opened up with that statement, our youngest child was dancing around with a baseball bat and slammed it into a flat screen T.V. that didn’t even belong to us. Talk about bad news! What was my boy doing dancing... (more...)

What a great night! Tonight we welcomed our freshman to Kaio and I must say that I am impressed with them. We challenged our group to live their life in such a way that it draws people to Jesus. In the 12th chapter of John there is a great example of this – 9 “When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. 10 Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, 11 for it was because of him that... (more...)

I use to love saying “Your daddy is not a window maker” to people that would stand in front of the t.v. when I was trying to watch a show. I can remember family members as well as my own dad saying this to me and my brother. The point was that no one could see the the t.v. for the fact that we were in the way. This same thought came to mind as I read John 12:24 – “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. ... (more...)

John 11:16 – “Then Thomas said to the rest of the disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” I love the tattoo that Jesse James has on the palm of his hand that reads, “pay up”. I can imagine that a custom bike, car or anything else made by him would cost you a good little penny. So pay up is right. Anyone who seeks his services would expect it too. (your getting the best) It is no different for us who have sought the service of Jesus. (Luke 14:27-29,... (more...)
